In the turmoil following independence of the Congo, Katanga seceded from it, and in turn, in June 1963,
the south-western part of Katanga declared itself an independent State of Lualaba.
It was forcibly re-united with the rest of Katanga in April 1966.
Now, the new constitution resurrects Lualaba as a separate province of the Democratic Republic of the Congo,
a move not implemented as of yet.
