Mandaeans
Wiki[link]
Mandaeism is a monotheistic religion with strongly dualistic worldview.
The Mandaeans revere Adam, Abel, Seth, Enosh, Noah, Shem, Aram and especially John the Baptist.
They desribe Abraham, Moses, Jesus and Muhammad as false prophets.
Mandaeans consider John the Baptist to be God's most honorable messenger.
Like certain Gnostics, they identify the Jewish God as evil.
Mandaeism has historically been practiced primarily in the country around the lower Euphrates and Tigris and the
rivers that surround the Shatt-al-Arab, currently part of southern Iraq and the Iranian province of Khuzestan.
Persecution in Iraq and Iran has caused many Mandaeans
to live in diaspora in Europe, U.S.A. and Australia.
There are estimated to live around the 60 and 70.000 Mandaeans worldwide.
The 2003 Iraw war reduced the population of Iraqi Mandaeans to about 5.000 by 2007.
The Mandaeans have remained separate and intensive private community, wherever they live.
