The Mizo (Zo) people live in Northeastern India, northwestern Myanmar and in Bangladesh.
They are classified as Tibeto-Burman speaking members of the Mongoloid race. After many years of struggle, often violent, they did accomplished a measure of self-determination in the state of Mizoram for Mizo people, notwithstanding conflicts with other ethnic groups within the state, which continue to this day.
The ultimate goal of Mizo/Zo movements and groups is the unification of all Zo people in a single state, but, to date, it remains just a dream. Area: 21.081 sq km Pop : 1.092.000 Cap : Aiwawl
