Geographically it is in the middle east, besides Israel would never be able to join because it would be politically, ethically and legally incompatible with the the EU. Sorry

Geography, culture, politics, non-acceptance of international law and conventions including community aquis.....but mostly geography. It is in the middle east in Asia.

Israelīs culture is mostly European !
Geography: the middles east has always been interconected with Europe.
Politics and non-acceptance of international law and conventions including community aquis ????? Whatīs that suppose to mean ??

Surely Israel's culture is Jewish? Judaism is originally from the middle east like Islam, therefore it is not European.

I think you need to read a bit more around the subject you argue so passionately about

Honestly I think that for example USA and Canada have culture similar to European, but nobody says that these countries should be in EU.

Today, every countries in UE has Christianity. Every countries are geoghrapical in Europe, and ethinic there aren't people... from China, Africa etc. There are Europeans - Slavs, Germans, Romans...
And by the way, if will be Union American (or something like that), there will be Israel (look politics relations USA - Israel), not in EU.

But if you think of that.. more then half of Israeli's are european.. look at my demo map of israel [link] .. the culture they have.. religion is not that different but it is.. i mean it could be.. if Albania, Turkey Macedonia Bulgaria Cyprus Kosovo with a vast muslim population is able to enter why wouldnt a Jewish state be allowed.

In Bulgaria and Cyprus mainly is Orthodoxy and it's Europe. I didn't say I agree become Turkey to EU. There's islam and it's not Europe.
But how you said - if they will be in EU (Turkey etc.) Israel could be. For today and Turkey, and Israel isn't and I hope it won't be.
And this that in Isreal are Europeans I know and the most important are people truly from Israel - Jewish (Poland = Poles). Israel isn't country like USA or Brasil, where people from Spain, UK and Poland do change into Brasilian people.

If people from your map started be Jewish, I will say that: What's problem be Brasil in EU? Culture (climatic, tradition etc.) - Israel not, Brasil not. Geography - 2 x not. Ethinic - (about this, what you said) Israel - yes, Brasil - yes (there are the same). Religion - Israel not, Brasil - yes. What else?
The most important - if Turkey will be in EU, Israel will be can also (but I think if it will it's compromise - 5% terrain of Turkey is in Europe and Turkey started contacts with EU about be there more than 50 years ago).

Politically Israel is no where near the Europe, even by UN standards. Politically it is in the middle east, geographically it is officially a part of Asia. It is also incompatible with the Community acquis of the EU.

If such a thing happens before Turkey's entrance, it will reveal the terrible hypocrisy in EU. It's not unexpectable if we consider how they got Cyprus in suddenly without any criterions or tests. I don't believe in so-called fair standards of EU countries so I hope Israel joins and the whole world sees how they are far from being realistic and unbiased.

Turkey has a part that is within Europe, therefore it is eligible to join. Historically and politically it has belonged to Europe.

No, I don't want. But I'm just talking about Israel. If Turkey can't join, Israel shouldn't be able to as well. Syria, Iraq and even Morocco are much closer to Europe than Israel geographically.

A difficult questions.

We can look at several points:

Geographical: Definitly not
Ethnic: Hm, very difficult, of course many Israelis have an european background, but not all.
Cultural: The Judaism did influence Europe, but the real jewish religion isnīt really european, noone except them lives that traditions.

But Iīd be for a good friendship. I think itīs also dangeroues for Europe, if they would be part of it, the Muslims would hate us even more.

Intresting, either way a good economical and political tie could be established. The muslim thing is done.. they hardly support eachother let alone an union.. after the iraqi war and the breakup revolutions their is no muslim extremism or right wing... idk dont exclude it?

For instance albania bosnia and macedonia have a vast population of more or equal muslim religious people but they still lie in europe which makes them automaticly possible to enter in the eu even if the pop. has a different type of culture? idk alot can be said but never say never?

No I donīt say never, itīs just what I think at the moment^^

Well the Albanian and Bosnian Muslims were influenced by the Ottoman Empire, theyīre still "real" Europeans, even when they were forced to be the slaves of Turks and give up their religion.

ok you got a good point there but what makes you an european the blood you have or the culture with religion or your race? its all questionable cause what makes a man an european man? being born in europe and living there or actually living the european lifestandard which is pretty much divers all over the place especially with minorities.. either way democratie and open minded ness is perhaps the basic for it.. thanx for commenting man you really got me wondering alot though i think Israel should have an option to decide , but i dont think they would ever agree :)

Itīs very difficult what is european.

Especially because all people from Europe to North-India have the same origin (Indogermanics), also the Caucasus-peoples are from that origin.

Iīd say, if youīre part of the original european ethnics and live the european culture and languages, youīre part of it. But that isnīt anything bad, itīs just a definition of a culture-community, that doesnīt mean others are bad, every culture deserves respect.

It isn't geographically a part of Israel, it is a part of the Middle East and therefore Asia. Unless you also believe that all of the Middle Eastern Arab countries starting from Lebanon are also European. It isn't about hate, it's about logic. I think Israel and Israeli's need to get over the idea that everyone hates them.

Whether or not it is technically Asia is irrelevant. As stated, Israel takes part in Eurovision, and the European world cup. I never said everyone hated them, but the EU is full of shit and idiocy which would hurt Israel. They bashed an Israeli company that provides jobs for Palestinians in Judea and Samaria. The EU is a failure both socially and economically.

Well I guess you and your views should also be heard, even if they are unfounded.

Geography isn't irrelevant, Eurovision is a joke (it should never be taken seriously). Azerbaijan, Armenia and Kazakhstan are also in UEFA, they are in Asia as well as Israel.

If the EU is such a failure, why are Israelis so desperate to join it. Contradiction I think.

THEY AREN'T! They don't want to be in the EU. That's the point, the EU spends its days trying to hurt Israel. TURKEY is the one desperate to join, but can't until it admit the Armenian Genocide.

They are founded. Israel is not part of Europe, but takes part in European things just like Armenia and the others.

You have now contradicted yourself a number of times. May be your understanding of English isn't good enough for you to know that you did this?

The EU upholds international law, Israel has broken international treaties and law a number of times in the past decade. The use of phosphorus shells in populated civilian areas being one.
